It's All About the Kids!!!

Growing the sport of archery is best served by engaging young people.  Archery builds character and other positive traits that can influence the future of our society on many different levels.

The East Fork Rock’n Shots JOAD Club (organized in 2011) is currently one of the largest and most active JOAD clubs in Missouri.  Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a program of USA Archery that teaches archery to young people, provides great opportunities for awarding achievement, and helps archers to enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition.

JOAD offers both recurve and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team building skills. JOAD is open to any youth archer aged 8 to 20 and is designed to grow with the youth archer. Introductory JOAD classes teach the fundamentals of proper shooting form.  As the young archer develops, they will learn more advanced techniques.

East Fork Archery offers an Indoor program that runs from Mid-September through March. An Outdoor program is also offered that runs from May through early August.  Rock’n Shots members meet for a minimum of an hour (weekly) to work on skills development.  Members are also offered opportunities to participate in fundraisers to supplement the cost of organizational memberships and tournament expenses.  EFA also offers a Junior Shooter progam for archers who are 8 or under.

There is no cost to join the Rock’n Shots JOAD club.  A shooting fee of $5 is required for each weekly session.  Members are expected to adhere to a strict code of conduct as defined by both USA Archery and EFA.
